Please join us for the Ninth Western Regional Partnership (WRP) Principals’ Meeting. The meeting will take place in Phoenix, Arizona on November 29th (10am - 5pm MT) and November 30th (8am - 12pm MT). The WRP Co-Chairs from the State of Utah, Department of the Interior, and Department of Defense will facilitate a discussion among regional leaders on key issues and priorities.  Together, the Principals will develop strategies and actions for addressing identified issues and priorities over the next year. 

At the meeting there will be an update on the findings of the 2017 WRP Regional Assessment and there will be four plenary sessions focused on regional issues:

  • Sentinel Landscapes in the WRP Region: Success and Opportunity
  • Strategic View on Airspace
  • Building a Stronger State-Federal Relationship
  • Energy Policy Changes and Implications for the WRP Region


A block of rooms has been reserved for the nights of the 28th and 29th at the Sheraton Grand Phoenix, 340 N 3rd St, Phoenix, AZ 85004. Room rates are offered at the government per diem rate of $124. Please call the hotel at 1-800-325-3535 and refer to "WRP/Western Regional Partnership" to book your stay by Tuesday, November 7, 2017.

Food and Beverage:

The following food and beverage options will be offered for this year’s meeting:

  • Lunch and beverages will be provided during the meeting on November 29th and an evening dinner reception will be held at the Sheraton.
  • Breakfast will be provided prior to the meeting on November 30th.

The early registration deadline for the meeting has been extended to Friday November 10.

If you would like to opt in for all provided meals, a $59 fee will be collected in advance of this meeting.  If you would like to opt in for breakfast and lunch only, a $33 fee will be collected in advance of this meeting.

Registration after November 3rd will result in an additional food and beverage fee of $20; registration will be CLOSED after November 17.

Cancellations to meeting registration must be received by November 14. If an emailed cancellation notice is received on or before November 14, registration fees will be refunded less a 25% administrative fee. Cancellations received after November 17 are non-refundable.

Please indicate on your RSVP whether or not you will opt in for meals. There is no registration fee for attending the meeting, however, registration is required for planning purposes.

Note for Federal Government Employees: The food and beverage fee cannot be claimed as a registration or conference attendance fee when you file your travel voucher.  Your food and beverage expenses, whether you choose to pay the food and beverage fee or obtain your meals, snacks, and beverages on your own, are intended to be covered by your per diem.

Optional Dinner on the 28th:
We will be organizing an optional social dinner the night before the Principals meeting. This is a 'pay on your own' function, but we would like to have an idea of interested attendees to ensure sufficient seating at the dinner location. Please select the optional dinner on the 28th if you would like to participate.
