2018 Principals Meeting - NRCS Tour

Description

The following photos capture participants in tour hosted by NRCS at the conclusion of the Principals' meeting. 

The tour included the following:

1. Tour of the Santa Clara Pueblo https://www.newmexico.org/places-to-go/native-culture/santa-clara-pueblo/, to highlight Emergency Watershed Protection and on-farm irrigation practices installed with Environmental Quality Incentive Program (EQIP) funding. 
2. Freshies - Certified Organic Orchards: http://freshiesnm.weebly.com/. Showcase Hoop Houses installed under the NRCS Hoop House Initiative. 
3. La Hoya Acequia – The community of La Joya is located on the east bank of the Rio Grande.  NRCS will highlight their efforts of working with the community to preserve an acequia (used for irrigation).
